Biometric Authentication (Face ID or Fingerprint)

1. What is Biometric Authentication?

Biometric Authentication allows you to secure your Neutron Wallet using your device’s biometrics, such as:

  • Face ID on iOS

  • Fingerprint on Android

This feature adds an extra layer of security while keeping access fast and convenient.

2. How do I enable Biometric Authentication?

To enable Biometric Authentication:

  1. Go to Wallets and choose Settings

  2. Toggle the switch ON

  3. Confirm using your device’s biometric prompt

    • Face ID on iOS

    • Fingerprint on Android

You can disable it at any time by toggling the switch OFF, then password-based authentication will be used instead.

3. When is biometric authentication required?

Once enabled, biometric authentication will be required in higher-risk situations, including:

  • When transferring a large amount

  • When you switch away from the app and return to Neutron Wallet

These checks help prevent unauthorized access and protect your funds.

4. Why can’t I enable Biometric Authentication?

Common reasons include:

  • Biometrics are not set up on your device

  • Biometric permission for Neutron Wallet is disabled in system settings

  • Your device does not support Face ID or Fingerprint

Please check your device’s biometric settings and try again.

5. Is Biometric Authentication mandatory?

No. Biometric Authentication is optional, but strongly recommended for better security.

6. Is Biometric Authentication secure?

Yes.

  • Biometric data is handled by your device’s secure hardware

  • Neutron Wallet does not store or access biometric data

  • Biometrics are only used during high-risk actions or session changes
